Description
Van Gogh’s Water Mill at Kollen, hand-painted in oil
Painted around 1884 near Nuenen, Water Mill at Kollen shows one of the old brick watermills Van Gogh sought out in the countryside around his parents’ village. He was drawn to their weathered walls, wooden wheels and the still water around them, and painted this one in warm, earthy colour, a solid, characterful piece of the rural Netherlands.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the weathered mill and earthy tones keep the character of the original.
Where a rustic scene belongs
Its warm, natural palette suits a study, a hallway or a rustic living room, and pairs well with wood, stone and warm light.
