Description
Van Gogh’s Cows, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in 1890, Cows is Van Gogh’s free reworking of a composition after the old master Jordaens, a group of cattle standing and lying in a field. He reimagined the scene entirely in his own bold, saturated colour and rolling brushwork, turning a study of animals into a vigorous, modern picture, one of his last works.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the cattle and bold colour keep the energy of the original.
Where a bold animal scene belongs
Vigorous and colourful, it suits a living room, a study or a hallway, and works well with warm, characterful interiors.
