Description
Van Gogh’s Sheaves of Wheat, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in 1890, Sheaves of Wheat fills the canvas with rows of bound golden sheaves standing close in a harvested field. From the last weeks of his life, it is a warm, near-abstract study of the harvest, the sheaves laid down in thick, glowing strokes of gold and green, simple, rich and full of the rhythm of the fields.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the golden sheaves and thick strokes keep the warmth of the original.
Where a warm harvest scene belongs
Its glowing golds suit a living room, a kitchen or a dining room, and pair beautifully with wood, cream walls and warm light.
