Description
Van Gogh’s Ploughed Fields, hand-painted in oil
Painted near Arles in 1888, Ploughed Fields (also called The Furrows) sweeps across long lines of freshly turned earth running toward the roofs and towers of the town under a bright sky. Van Gogh loved the rhythm of the ploughed land and the deep perspective it gave him, painting the furrows in warm violets and browns against fresh greens and blue, a strong, structured landscape of the working country.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the furrowed earth and deep perspective keep the feeling of the original.
Where a structured landscape belongs
Its warm earth and fresh sky suit a living room, a study or a hallway, and pair beautifully with wood and warm light.
