Description
Van Gogh’s Wheatfield, hand-painted in oil
Painted near Arles in the summer of 1888, Wheatfield fills the canvas with ripe golden wheat rolling toward a low horizon under a clear blue sky. Van Gogh painted the harvest fields of Provence again and again in the heat of that summer, and here the glowing wheat and thick, rhythmic strokes catch the pure warmth and light of the southern country.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the golden wheat and bright sky keep the warmth of the original.
Where a golden field belongs
Its warm gold and blue suit a living room, a study or above a sofa, and pair beautifully with wood, cream walls and warm light.
