Description
Van Gogh’s Enclosed Field with Ploughman, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Saint-Rémy in 1889, Enclosed Field with Ploughman shows a ploughman and his horse working the walled field Van Gogh could see from the asylum, the rolling ground and distant hills worked in his rhythmic late strokes. He returned to this enclosed field through the seasons; here the fresh violet earth, green and gold and the small labouring figure fill the scene with quiet movement.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the ploughed field and rhythmic strokes keep the feeling of the original.
Where a country landscape belongs
Its warm, earthy tones suit a living room, a study or a hallway, and pair naturally with wood and warm light.
