Description
Van Gogh’s Orchard in Blossom, Bordered by Cypresses, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Arles in the spring of 1888, this belongs to the great series of orchards Van Gogh raced to capture as the fruit trees flowered. White and pink blossom foams across the trees, hemmed by a dark line of cypresses under a fresh blue sky. Thrilled by the southern spring, he worked in bright, quick strokes to catch the fleeting bloom, a picture full of light, air and new life.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the blossom and fresh light keep the joy of the original.
Where a blossom scene belongs
Its fresh spring colour suits a bedroom, a living room or a bright hallway, and pairs beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
