Description
Van Gogh’s Flowering Garden with Path, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Arles in the summer of 1888, this shows a public garden in full bloom, a path winding between beds crowded with flowers and greenery under a bright southern sky. Van Gogh loved the exuberance of these gardens and painted them in a shower of small, vivid strokes, reds, yellows, greens and blues dancing across the canvas, a joyful, teeming picture of high summer.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the flower beds and vivid strokes keep the vitality of the original.
Where a garden scene belongs
Fresh and joyful, it suits a living room, a bedroom or a bright hallway, and pairs beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
