Description
Van Gogh’s Bowl with Sunflowers, Roses and Other Flowers, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Paris in 1886, this lush, abundant flower piece heaps sunflowers, roses and other summer blooms into a broad bowl against a warm ground. One of the richest of Van Gogh’s early Paris flower pieces, and an early appearance of the sunflowers he would make famous, it glows with warm yellows, reds and greens laid on in full, generous strokes.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the massed blooms and warm colour keep the abundance of the original.
Where a flower still life belongs
Lush and warm, it suits a living room, a bedroom or a dining room, and pairs beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
