Description
Van Gogh’s Avenue in Voyer d’Argenson Park at Asnieres, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Asnières outside Paris in the spring of 1887, this shows a shaded avenue in the Voyer d’Argenson park, its trees arching over a path where couples and strollers walk. Van Gogh painted many bright scenes in these suburban parks that spring; here the fresh greens and dappled light are built from small, lively touches of colour in his Impressionist-influenced manner, calm and full of air.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the leafy avenue and dappled light keep the freshness of the original.
Where a park scene belongs
Its fresh, leafy greens suit a living room, a bedroom or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
