Description
Van Gogh’s Park at Asnieres in Spring, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Asnières outside Paris in the spring of 1887, this shows a suburban park bursting into fresh new leaf, its lawns, blossoming trees and paths dappled with light and a couple of strollers. Van Gogh painted many bright scenes in these parks that spring; here the young greens and pale blossom are built from small, lively touches of fresh colour in his Impressionist-influenced manner, calm and full of the promise of spring.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the spring park and dappled light keep the freshness of the original.
Where a park scene belongs
Its fresh, leafy greens suit a bedroom, a living room or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
