Description
Van Gogh’s Wheat Fields, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in the summer of 1890, in the last weeks of his life, this shows broad fields of ripe golden wheat rolling under a wide summer sky. Van Gogh painted many of these open, panoramic views of the cultivated country in his final months, finding in the great fields both peace and deep feeling; here the golden wheat and light sky are worked in firm, rhythmic strokes, a calm, expansive picture of the summer land.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the golden fields and rhythmic strokes keep the feeling of the original.
Where a field landscape belongs
Its warm golds suit a living room, a study or a hallway, and pair beautifully with warm woods, neutral walls and natural light.
