Description
Van Gogh’s Garden in Auvers, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in the summer of 1890, in the last weeks of his life, this shows a lush village garden crowded with flowers, shrubs and greenery running up to a house and trees under a bright sky. Van Gogh loved the exuberant gardens of Auvers; here the teeming plants and fresh growth are worked in his vigorous, rhythmic strokes of green, blue and warm colour, a bright, abundant picture of the summer garden.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the crowded garden and vigorous strokes keep the vitality of the original.
Where a garden scene belongs
Fresh and abundant, it suits a living room, a bedroom or a bright hallway, and pairs beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
