Description
Van Gogh’s Field with Wheat Stacks, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in the summer of 1890, in the last weeks of his life, this shows great golden stacks of wheat rising in a cut field under a wide sky. Van Gogh loved the abundance of the harvest and the rounded, glowing forms of the stacks; here the warm gold masses and fresh sky are worked in his firm, rhythmic strokes, a warm, generous picture of the summer harvest.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the golden stacks and rhythmic strokes keep the glow of the original.
Where a harvest landscape belongs
Warm and radiant, it lights up a living room, a study or a hallway, and pairs beautifully with warm woods, neutral walls and natural light.
