Description
Van Gogh’s Vase with Fifteen Sunflowers, hand-painted in oil
One of the most famous images in all of art, this is a version of Van Gogh’s celebrated Sunflowers, painted in Arles. Fifteen sunflowers, some in full bloom and others gone to seed, are crowded into a plain earthenware vase against a glowing yellow ground, everything worked in radiant yellows and golds laid on thick. Van Gogh painted them as a hymn to the sun and to friendship; few pictures are so instantly loved.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the massed blooms and thick gold keep the glow of the original.
Where the Sunflowers belong
Warm and iconic, they light up a living room, a kitchen or a hallway, and pair beautifully with warm woods, neutral walls and natural light.
