Description
Van Gogh’s Bulb Fields, hand-painted in oil
Painted near The Hague in 1883, Bulb Fields (also called Flower Beds in Holland) is one of Van Gogh’s rare early works in bright colour: broad bands of blossoming bulb fields, reds, whites, pinks and yellows, stripe the flat land toward a row of cottages under a wide sky. It looks ahead to the colour he would find years later in the south, a fresh and unusual picture from his Dutch years.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the bright bands of flowers keep the freshness of the original.
Where a colourful field scene belongs
Its bright, striped colour suits a living room, a bedroom or a hallway, and pairs happily with pale walls, wood and greenery.
