Description
Van Gogh’s Field with Poppies, hand-painted in oil
Painted near Arles in the summer of 1888, Field with Poppies sweeps across a green meadow scattered with scarlet poppies toward a distant farm and a line of trees under a fresh blue sky. Van Gogh loved the vivid red of poppies against fresh green, a pure complementary contrast, and painted the whole scene in quick, lively strokes, bright, warm and full of the pleasure of the southern summer.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the red poppies and green field keep the vitality of the original.
Where a bright field belongs
Its fresh green and scarlet suit a living room, a bedroom or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
