Painted in 1889, this shows small figures strolling among great trees and grass in a leafy park or garden under a soft sky. Van Gogh loved these views of people at ease among the trees; here the towering trunks, dappled ground and quiet figures are worked in his rhythmic, curling strokes of green, blue and gold, a warm, restful scene of the park in fine weather.
