Description
Van Gogh’s Lilac Bush, hand-painted in oil
Painted in 1889 in the garden of the Saint-Rémy asylum, Lilac Bush is a close-up of a single flowering lilac bursting with violet and white blossom against fresh green. Painted soon after his arrival at Saint-Rémy, it shows Van Gogh finding renewal in the garden around him, the whole canvas alive with swirling, energetic brushwork and the colour of spring.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the violet blossom and swirling greens keep the vitality of the original.
Where a fresh floral belongs
Its violet and green suit a bedroom, a living room or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with pale walls, wood and greenery.
