Description
Van Gogh’s The Park at Arles with the Entrance through the Trees, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Arles in 1888, this belongs to Van Gogh’s ‘Poet’s Garden’ series, made to decorate the room he prepared for Gauguin. Great trees frame a view down to the entrance of the public garden, with bushes, grass and a couple of figures. Worked in rich autumn greens, blues and gold with his rhythmic strokes, it is a warm, poetic vision of the leafy park.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the framing trees and warm colour keep the mood of the original.
Where a park scene belongs
Its warm, leafy tones suit a living room, a bedroom or a hallway, and pair beautifully with wood, greenery and warm light.
