Description
Van Gogh’s Three Sunflowers in a Vase, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Arles in 1888, this is one of the celebrated Sunflowers canvases, showing just three great sunflower heads in a plain vase against a bright turquoise ground. Van Gogh painted his sunflowers as a hymn to the southern sun; here the few big blooms, some in flower and one gone to seed, are set down in thick, radiant yellows against the cool background, simple, bold and glowing with warmth.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the sunflowers and thick gold keep the glow of the original.
Where the Sunflowers belong
Warm and iconic, they light up a living room, a kitchen or a hallway, and pair beautifully with warm woods, neutral walls and natural light.
