Description
Van Gogh’s Two Lovers, hand-painted in oil
Painted in Arles in 1888, Two Lovers is a surviving fragment of a larger garden picture, showing a couple strolling arm in arm along a path. Van Gogh painted the walking figures in warm, simple colour with bold outline, part of his series of the Arles public garden, an intimate, tender glimpse of everyday romance in the southern town.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the strolling couple and warm colour keep the charm of the original.
Where a romantic scene belongs
Warm and tender, it suits a bedroom, a living room or a hallway, and pairs beautifully with soft, warm interiors.
