Description
Van Gogh’s House with Sunflowers, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Auvers-sur-Oise in the summer of 1890, in the last weeks of his life, this shows tall sunflowers growing against the wall of an old village house among fresh green gardens. Van Gogh loved the sunflowers he had made famous, and the old houses of Auvers; here the golden blooms, warm walls and deep greenery are worked in his vigorous, rhythmic strokes, a bright, life-filled corner of the village garden.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the sunflowers and old house keep the vitality of the original.
Where a garden scene belongs
Its warm golds and fresh greens suit a living room, a kitchen or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with wood, greenery and natural light.
