Description
Van Gogh’s Olive Grove, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Saint-Rémy in 1889, Olive Grove is one of the many studies Van Gogh made of the olive groves of Provence during his year at the asylum. The gnarled trunks twist and lean, the silver-green foliage ripples and the ground rolls in waves of brushwork, the same restless energy that runs through The Starry Night. For Van Gogh the olive trees were almost alive.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the twisting trees and rolling ground keep the movement of the original.
Where a calm, earthy landscape belongs
Its soft greens and ochres suit a living room, a bedroom or a workspace, and pair naturally with wood, stone, linen and greenery.
