Description
Van Gogh’s Olive Picking, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Saint-Rémy in 1889, this shows women harvesting olives beneath a grove of twisting, silver-green trees, the earth and foliage worked in his rhythmic, curling strokes. Van Gogh painted the olive groves of Provence again and again, moved by their gnarled, ancient forms and shifting colour; here the labour of the harvest and the living, writhing trees fill the canvas with movement and light.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the silver trees and rhythmic strokes keep the vitality of the original.
Where an olive grove belongs
Its silver-green tones suit a living room, a study or a bright hallway, and pair beautifully with wood, greenery and natural light.
