Description
Van Gogh’s Wheatfield with a Reaper, hand-painted in oil
Painted at Saint-Rémy in 1889, this shows the walled wheat field behind the Saint-Paul asylum, a lone reaper cutting his way through the golden grain under the hills. Van Gogh painted this enclosed field many times, and saw the reaper as a gentle image of humanity and the cycle of life; here the surging yellows and rhythmic strokes fill the canvas with warmth and quiet movement.
Our version is a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto canvas by a senior studio artist so the golden field and reaper keep the glow of the original.
Where a wheatfield belongs
Warm and radiant, it suits a living room, a study or a hallway, and pairs beautifully with warm woods, neutral walls and natural light.
