Water runs through Vincent van Gogh’s art, the bright Seine of Paris, the great Rhône at Arles, the Mediterranean at Saintes-Maries. This collection gathers his rivers, bridges, canals, boats and seascapes.
Van Gogh’s rivers, bridges and the sea
In Paris in 1887 Van Gogh painted the sunlit banks of the Seine at Asnières in shimmering, broken colour. In Arles he painted the little Langlois drawbridge that reminded him of Holland, the dockers on the Rhône, and, on a trip to the coast, his first, thrilling sight of the Mediterranean and its fishing boats. Water gave him some of his freshest, most luminous pictures.
This collection brings together his rivers, bridges and seascapes, each available as a hand-painted oil reproduction whose shimmering brushwork keeps the light on the water.
Hand-painted oil reproductions, made to order
Every piece in this collection is available as a hand-painted oil reproduction, brushed onto artist-grade cotton canvas by a senior studio painter, never printed and never machine-made, or as a smooth archival fine-art print at a lower price. Choose your size and orientation, then finish it rolled, stretched on a wooden frame, or in a thin or thick frame. Each canvas is made to order, quality-inspected by hand, and shipped free worldwide with a certificate of authenticity and a 30-day return guarantee.
